I wrote yesterday about the central importance to health of activating one’s unique desire function. I also mentioned that this is a particularly big challenge for many patients who are either blocked from fully activating it, or often from even knowing what it is in the first place. In addition to the medical approach of Heilkunst to systematically remove blockages at all levels (biological, psychological, etc.), there are some very good resources to help activate this desire function at different stages. To start with, many patients have a portion of their life energy still tied up in unresolved traumas from the past, and by undergoing time line treatment, that life energy becomes more and more liberated to engage with their desire function.

The fiction author Steven Pressfield has written a couple of books about the creative process itself, and in his book The War of Art, he very specifically addresses the reality of resistance, and how it is a constant struggle within every creative process.

Its sequel, Do The Work, is also a short and valuable read to help illuminate the nature of this challenge to activating one’s creativity.

While these Steven Pressfield books are great for gaining a conceptual orientation for the problem of resistance, Julia Cameron’s classic book The Artist’s Way, gives many practical exercises to actually start to chip away at these resistances and blockages. Her “morning pages” exercise is often known by people who haven’t even read this book, and is one of several practical exercises offered by Cameron.

While these books are specifically written with writers or artists in mind, the concepts and principles they illuminate apply to anyone who is wishing to access their own creativity and desire function, even if that is for something outside of the usual world of the arts. Our desire function and creativity can be directed into any activity — it is just a question of finding out what that is for you. What tools have you successfully used to help with your creativity?

“There is that scattereth and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.”

Proverbs 11:24

I was once helping a friend clean out his closet of old clothes. We had gone shopping that day and he needed room to insert his new wardrobe. As we went through old sweaters and other dated articles, it was clear to me that every garment that he cherished actually was attached to a story from the past. I recall one particular red cable knit sweater with leather elbow patches that he teared up at the prospect of giving away. When I asked him the significance, he stated that he’d been in London, England, away from his controlling parents enjoying the freedom of visiting with his brother and purchasing this sweater out of his own volition as a young adult. The red sweater represented to him autonomy and a rite of passage. The sad part was that when he returned home, his parents had told him that when he wore it, it made the redness of his acne stand out and he never wore the sweater again. In fact, he swore off the colour red as a wardrobe choice forever! The red sweater had remained in his closet for over 12 years, never worn, but an icon to the un-lived life nonetheless.

Inanimate things have sadly become endowed with our unresolved human emotions. Just as the woman in the Youtube clip above from The Learning Channel’s show, “Hoarding: Buried Alive” indicates, she was not wholly cherished as a child and therefore cares for objects in ways that she was never cared for. She is projecting onto the wee doll, what she desperately craves herself; love, regard, inner value, and nurturing. Her resistance to the removal of the object when the fellow does not assure her of the commitment to its care prevents her from allowing for the release of the doll, or of her feelings of grief. Her life seemingly depends on her ability to “hang on” to the article to ensure its proper care. This is indicative in all cases of hoarders. If you watch any of the hour-long episodes, you will generally find some theme of loss in the sufferer’s past that spawns an inability to let go in the present. They are grief stricken and the items they hoard give them the illusion that they are validated, safe and ok. The problem with crude nature is that they are attempting to give the feeling of abundance to themselves constantly, in mega doses, until they have little freedom of movement. They become trapped by their own illusions.

You can start with regimen and attempt to clean out the hoarder’s dwelling of excess items, however if the law of cure, “Like Cures Like” is not employed, the poor person will generally just re-infect again in due time like a returning cancer. The root cause has not been excavated. Also, Orgonomic Heilkunst enables us to apply psycho-therapeutics that enable the person to release the pain, grief and fear at the moment it was engendered, even if the shock or trauma was embedded at the pre-verbal stage between birth and 3 years of age. When the individual sources the moment of their trauma in a loving environment with the clinician safely holding them, the patient will naturally seek to let go of their unresolved grief and fear, allowing more space within themselves and their psyche. The following Youtube video illustrates how an individual’s subconscious still holds childhood ills where she did not receive the whole, healthy nurturing so intrinsic to the healthy evolution of her being. It is especially evident when she derives the nurturing still so craved from her Mentor:

Florence Scovel Shinn realized this phenomenon when she intuited that, “People little dream of how their affairs react on the body. There is a mental correspondence for every disease. A person might receive instantaneous healing through the realization of his body being a perfect idea in Divine Mind, and therefore whole and perfect, but if he continues his destructive thinking, hoarding, hating, fearing, condemning, the disease will return.”

Many people are in ignorance of the fact that gifts and things are investments, and that hoarding and saving invariably leads to loss in the end. This is a tough lesson to learn for most hoarders.

Medically speaking, the homeopathic remedy Natrum Muriaticum will weigh in heavily as the homeopathic similimum, “Like Cures Like”, in cases of hoarders. Here is an extracted piece from P. R. Allen’s Materia Medica on Natrum Muriaticum and the “Mind:”

Melancholy, depressed, sad, and weeping; consolation aggravates.

Very irritable, and ill-humored ; easily provoked to anger.

Difficult thinking ; absence of mind ; weakness of memory.

Folks suffering this state will have difficulty crying or expressing grief. If they get laughing too hard, tears will leak from their eyes. There is much polarity with this state of mind including diarrhea versus constipation, craves support and love, however, she despises being touched or consoled, melancholy versus irritation and anger. She seems to bid for sympathy, but she seems to ward it off upon receipt. Many incorrect diagnosis of “manic depression” have been levied on a simple Natrum Muriaticum state.

An individual suffering a Natrum Muriaticum disease state will hang on to everything — stuff that has no use, unrequited love, and old disappointments. She seems to live in the past, she collects everything that seemingly gives her comfort until she is just buried in it. She just can’t let go. She may very often be over-weight, constipated and have a lot of trouble urinating (letting go) in public washrooms. She will lie awake at night, unable to let go to sleep, thinking about old loves, married men she can’t have, men who live in other cities. It is all unrequited love. She knows she needs to sleep, but she can’t help romanticizing the past. This individual resists changes, and suffers much nervousness when her things are moved. You will witness fretting, anxiety and nervousness if anyone touches her stuff. Her irritability is marked, especially from a fear of her fortress being breached, from loud noise like the slamming of a door, the ringing of a bell, the firing of a pistol or loud music.

I recall a hoarder who I treated who kept absolutely everything; magazines, recipes, books, anything that was printed matter. She was one of a dozen children from a small farm that barely had enough to eat. In fact, if you did not arrive to the table in time at her home, you might have gone without. My patient struggled with the capacity to let go of her feelings of grief and lack. After about a year of treatment where we’d excavated enough content from her childhood, she spontaneously began pitching stuff out and giving it away to folks she felt might value it more than she did. It was a very joyous time for both of us as it meant that she was also able to rest more easily in an empty chair to read. The space she created in her environment also enabled her to create enough space for her to take a lover into her life, her domain and into her nether self where she’d kept it cluttered for over 30 years.

Here is a last excerpt from hoarders where you can see more clearly the Natrum Muriaticum state. You will see the woman become more hysterical and postured in defense, entreating her husband to be patient with her as it drives her anxiety up to a “10.” Watch the facial armoring indicative of a lack of authenticate emotional expression. She doesn’t weep or even clench her mouth to express her anxiety. Her face remains “stony” with the same non-expression in the eyes and around the mouth. There is no squeezing, squinting or true tantrum qualities indicative of an embodied discharge. This poor woman is so shut down that her body doesn’t even produce the appropriate response to the stimulus in this case. Imagine taking an item away from a two year old child, and you can start to tease out where this woman’s armoring began.

This is one of the areas of treatment that we specialize in. We know that a hoarder really abhors a vacuum. Their belief is that if all the spaces are already filled in, then there is no room to receive slights, criticisms, or emotional or physical abuse. Hoarding gives the impression that there is no more room at the inn. The problem is that divine births in the way of inspired creativity, spontaneity or romantic interludes can not take root either. It is piteously sad for a human being to have to suffer alone like this when we have the tools to help. Please let us know if you have a hoarder in your life who who benefit from root cause prescribing, whose resistances to being told to “just let go” aren’t working. We can provide a safe loving place for them to transition their grief and fears into joy, trust and faith and coaching from resonant partners who wholly understand their pain.

On occasion, I will also call on a colleague of mine to help to move the treatment forward. While we use the Law of Similars to cure the underlying cause, folks who hoard will often need a coach for the practical clean-up. Elaine Shannon (506-647-2041 or empressofinspiration@gmail.com), Empress of Organizing Inspiration, touts, “A coach is someone who runs beside you, encouraging you to do it yourself. A consultant gives their best tips based on their skills and knowledge. A Muse (n) is someone who inspires others and brings the creative process front and center.”

Elaine works virtually with clients, throughout the world, helping them to create space in their environment, enabling them to start trusting the space in themselves for Divine inspiration.

This blog is about how one individual went through the process of reconciling her inner and outer value and how money is the external mirror for one's inner value.

Money can be a very touchy subject. When I was a kid, my Dad would pay the monthly household bills at the kitchen table. If you came upon him with his meticulously sorted accordian file, it was best if you backed slowly out of the room. This exercise never left him in the best of moods. My biological mother exhibited the greatest crime against her own inner value by committing suicide when I was eight years old. The woman who stepped in to replace her was a Certified General Accountant and I learned that money must be “managed” and luxuries “saved for.” I was raised with a strong Protestant work ethic and the attitude that swam in my veins is that everything must be struggled for and that you can only make enough to pay the bills and you’re lucky if you can eek out the little extra to go camping for a week or two in the summer or to Florida for a week at March Break. We were profoundly middle class.

When I entered my twenties, I got a good job working for the government (because I learned from my parents that a nice secure job with benefits is most desirable). I was fortunate enough to work in innovative groups called “task forces.” We would hire consultants, who were allegedly “smarter” than us, who would come in from the outside, look at our tasks and processes and help us to “reorganize” ourselves to do it differently … over and over again. Basically, these exercises would just pit the innovators against those individuals counting their days until retirement with the “leave me the heck alone” attitudes. It was curious to me that no matter how much I worked for the side of innovation, I was still paid the same amount as the “calendar counters.” And neither of us counted ourselves “satisfied” as neither of us could make a difference or ever be recognized by breaking the glass salary ceiling. While I effort-ed out of my Protestant work ethic, the bean counters proudly touted that they did next to nothing. We were all effectively impotent!

It took me 13 years of living this emotional suicide to recognize that I was destroying my own soul and inner value. I felt trapped in my own limited state of mind. It was at this time, that I began Heilkunst treatment. After taking the remedy Aurum Metallicum (derived from Gold) for “ailments of disappointed love, ailments from business reversals and humiliation, and fears of failure”, I chose to do the only thing that made sense to me. I dressed up my Curriculum Vitae and “became” a Consultant. For the first time in my life I felt a feeling of excitement, almost like I could soar with possibility. The glass ceiling shattered and in the first year, as an outside innovator, I earned double my annual income while only working 9 months of the year. Incidentally, I was doing the exact same work for the government, but I was now being called in from “the outside.” It was brilliant, I worked less hours and I had more time to spend with my small children. I secretly felt I was committing some crime to my WASP-ey heritage.

Over the next 4 years, I innovated organizations both public and private really getting to know my own inner value. The problem became that I was putting all this glorious effort into organizations, that paid me very well, but the schism lay in the fact that I felt their Management remained stubbornly skewed. At this higher level of consulting, I wasn’t pitted against the state of mind of the workers, but the owners and managers. My core values did not match theirs and I kept getting enmeshed in their politics. I was taking their money and short-falling on the products and services based on our contract. I’d reached another kind of glass ceiling now as a consultant, and I knew that if I continued, I’d keep trying to jam my ethical centre down as my square peg didn’t fit their round hole. I would have to work for myself.

As a Physician, who charges money for her services, I have become a consultant to many clients. My contracts are often entered into on an hourly basis. I exchange my knowledge for some form of the other person’s personal value, usually money. Based on my inner knowledge, and continual learning, my fees have to match my inner value, otherwise, I won’t have the clients who resonate with my present research goals. However, if my fees are too low, I end up working with individuals whose inner value is also depressingly compromised. It is a fine line in which I must always reconcile my inner value with my outer. After 15 years of intensive research, writing, and my own treatment, I have achieved a deep sense of my own inner value. I have attained “orgastic potency” in my work and personal life and so do many of my patients. There is no disparity or incongruency between my inner or outer value. A recession is only a state of mind perpetuated by fear.

The Genetic Miasm, Psorinum, is defined in our Materia Medicas as “poverty consciousness”. It corresponds to the Fall and humanity will show a sharper decline into this state of mind starting about Sept. 21st. If you notice an, “anxiety and hopelessness about the future, pessimism, fears of poverty, health, cancer, the future, failure, restless, anguish, feelings of foresakeness, despair and isolated”, you may qualify for curative medicine. However, if you choose to work with me, you will have to dig down into your resourceful inner value, separate from the disease, and recognize if you are a candidate for “orgastic potency.” Psora is the disease of “lack” – they are “itching to become” and the individual prey to this state of mind will always take a posture, or a position, that is lower than their deeper capability. It is no accident that my mother committed suicide on Sept. 27th and my father died of a heart attack at age 43. Unfortunately, my Dad could not attain a life lived out of a heart filled with self-love and my Mom succumbed to her Aurum and Psora diseases. I know where I’ve come from and I know who I am now.

Some interesting statements I’ve heard recently from clients and friends who may suffer Psora disease:

A friend and client stated, “If Ally raises her fees, I wonder if we can still be friends, let alone continue treatment?”

A friend noted, “Those horse lessons for your daughter must be expensive! Now that I’m fifty, I’ve always wanted to learn how to ride, but felt it was always too expensive.”

A parent of a client stated, “That means that both Physicians are now making $70 more per hour combined for their pocket!”

Some interesting statements I’ve heard recently from clients and friends who have resolved their Psora disease:

A client recently stated, “I know that no matter what happens, I can always recreate myself to meet my needs. I am very resourceful.”

Another client exclaimed, “If I continue living the “abandoned” state of mind, that is what I’ll keep reaping, so from here on in, I am rescued! Boy, that creates some heat in my belly!”

A friend and client noted, “Like Goethe said, once I made the commitment, all the forces in the Universe showed up to support my endeavor. I didn’t need to experience an ounce of struggle as there isn’t any more separation between who I am and what I want. I am abundance and that simply is what is reflected back!”

Muller-Eckhard who devoted a monograph to the problem of “the illness of not being allowed to be ill.”

I was deeply struck by my own experience of this plight of the intellect to not know the deeper meaning behind the functional nature of illness. If you have a tumor, the Allopathic Doctor, will over-recommend surgery and some form of chemical warfare. However, he will not ask you why you feel you’ve chosen the path of “the un-lived life” or why you may “rescue others to the exclusion of yourself” as a function of your evolution. He also won’t suggest that your beliefs be looked at so that a re-infection can be avoided.

If I never saw illness, I would not know that fever in a child produces the most amazing growth spurt afterwards. I’ve witnessed Autistic children speak for the first time after a bout of a healthy fever. I’ve listened to many women, who have come off their anti-depressants, tell me they feel they’ve missed years of feeling any of their emotions. One women cried at a movie for the first time in twenty years after she stopped taking the pill. I had one fellow, during Heilkunst treatment, quit his job, leave his wife and strike out as an Art Consultant as he resolved his cancer state of mind. En route, though, he had many bouts of tears and anguish.

As a Heilkunst Physician, we have now come to the heretical understanding that a child has childhood diseases in order to become healthier. It is evident that without this function, the child cannot easily or effectively accomplish the complete adaptation process to fully enter the adult order. Without this capacity to navigate through the adversity of illness, he can not wholly learn to discern the promise of continual change without pause and suffering.

Tylenol and Vaccines suppress this spiritual mapping to becoming a whole, generative and creative being in the face of healthy adversity at a time in their lives when they are meant to develop this function. The Allopathic model simply can’t take the heat!

Summarizing in conclusion, H. Muller-Eckhard says:
“Every childhood disease has a meaning and an immanent
function that can become active in many directions. Quite often a
childhood disease is an irreplaceable help in life, which the child
cannot do without in many situations on the difficult journey out
of his magic and mystical state of consciousness into the world of
the crass reality of the adult order. In all the well-meant protective
immunization against childhood diseases, especially against those
involving desquamation (the shedding of the outer layer of a surface), one thing seems to have been forgotten: with the childhood diseases that are “eliminated,” and whose appearance and arising is made impossible, the active and wholesome functions of these diseases are also taken from the child.”

In fact, Harris Coulter has even linked the criminal element to the suppressive nature of vaccines in his book, Vaccination, Social Violence and Criminality. I, too, had the toughest time shifting my own paradigm. Crawling out of my son’s own Autistic spectrum paradigm was the vehicle to knowing that the function of childhood illness is absolutely critical to a human being’s development. And with Heilkunst medicine, all of this can be accomplished without suffering or harm to the child.

I don’t know if you’ve had a chance to watch Cesar Millan in action, but it is well worth the ticket of admission. He is touted as America’s Dog Whisperer and canine psychologist by National Geographic. You can see his approach to dog rehabilitation by clicking the frame below. The most important aspect is that he is not a dog trainer … actually you may be surprised to find out who actually gets the training!

I’ve been guided to watch season 1 and 2 of Cesar Millan’s television series for my postgraduate work with Steven Decker at the Novalis Institute. At first, I couldn’t understand why I was being asked to watch hours and hours of a dude working with dogs and their owners, however, that has all changed now as my kids and I hungrily eek out time to participate the episodes and then discuss what Mr. Millan is actually doing with his dynamic approach. What I’m realizing is that it is not that different to Willhelm Reich’s Character Analysis which enables the practitioner to get at the root of the subconscious and discharge the deadly orgone energy trapped there so that the person can obtain freedom from constriction (armoring) and disease and find a brand new place of naturalness hooked into their instincts and reason.

The dogs that I’ve been watching Cesar work with have generally developed physical and emotional symptoms due to the fact that their owners are attempting to humanize them out their own needs to fill a void of some sort. If you watch, you’ll see dogs that chase their tails for hours until blood is drawn, unprovoked pit-bulls that attack other dogs unmercilessly, and even dogs who hump the children of the household in an effort to dominate them. These neurotic tendencies are actually the owners’ issues being displayed for them through the mirror of their domesticated pet.

If you aren’t able to wholly get the premise, ask yourself this, “Do lions, giraffes and bears display such neurotic tendencies in the wild?” If not, why not? Why do animals in captivity suffer neurotic behaviors and participate our diseases for us? The answers to these questions can be obtained by watching the way that Cesar Millan works with the owners. You’ll see a spoiled teen let her pit bull get away with repeated bad behavior and then praise her, you’ll watch a needy business owner allow her terrier to bite the ankles (to the point of broken skin) as her clients leave her shop, and many others. So what does this have to do with Heilkunst medicine?

Well, under the jurisdiction of spiritual beliefs or Ideogenic diseases (Ideo = ideas and genesis = cause, origin), Heilkunstlers trained in the origins and development of Steiner, Reich and Hahnemann’s dynamic system in the evolution of human consciousness are able to access this realm with humans the same way that Cesar Millan goes about it with animals. What is amazing is that you don’t need to spew content for hours, months or even years at your psychotherapist to get there. The whole meal deal is that we can quickly hook into the body’s subconscious language, make the person conscious of it, discharge it through a variety of simple exercises and get more lability, flexibility, natural thinking and movement quickly and easily. Bye bye neurosis, hello sovereignty and freedom.

I’ve seen patients stop flaring their eyes in undischarged fear, stop over-eating because they were able to resolve nursing conflicts they didn’t know they had, release the anal-rention from too early imposed toilet training, release the mother-guilt held in the thoracic segment causing heart palpitations, finally emit the rage stored in the solar plexus toward their father causing asthma, and finally obtain true, healthy, natural orgastic potency with another human being. Oh yeah, and our patients stop chasing their tails too!
