Armoring of the Cervical Segment
This blog is part of a series; its original title was Heilkunst Basics : University, 3rd Year (Armoring of the Cervical Segment)
The next segment in this sequence (starting from the top of the head, and moving down) is the cervical segment (ie neck and throat). The first thing to point out is that this is the segment which divides the head from the rest of the body, and therefore, when armored, creates an artificial separation between head and heart.
All forms of neck-related symptoms, such as being chronically stiff are related to this segment. Physical issues in the throat, such as thyroid issues are also related to this segment. I’ve had a number of patients who have symptoms of constantly feeling like they are choking. Also, as related to the oral segment, are a variety of issues related to speech, particularly around being effective in communication. The emotions locked up in this segment related primarily to anger as well as fear. There is a strong tendency towards stubbornness, and being inflexible in one’s viewpoint. The quality of being judgmental goes hand-in-hand with this, as well.
Triggering physical and emotional releases from pressing on the trigger spots is the first direct aspect of therapy for this segment. The primary homeopathic remedy related to these groupings of symptoms (stiff neck, anger, etc.) is Staphysagria. A useful flower essence could be Beech, which is for the attitude of being judgmental or critical.
If this segment is effectively worked through, a huge bottleneck is released, allowing access to the next segment, which is the chest cavity, and a central point of our whole system.
