Our Homeopathic Success Story

About 6 years ago, my husband and I made the decision to invest in homeopathic treatment for me and our girls. It wasn’t a decision we made lightly, because we knew it would be an investment, but after talking with Dr. Jeff Korentayer and praying about the decision, we decided to take the plunge.

At the time, I was having a reoccurring foot infection where my foot was getting itchy and swelling up every month. From a medical standpoint, I probably needed antibiotics. But I believed that the antibiotics I had taken for a painful sinus infection a few months earlier was an underlying cause, and didn’t want to take anymore.

We also have a daughter who had been gluten-free since she was a toddler, and were hoping to overcome the allergy. When she was a baby, we had deliberated the question of vaccinations. I had some hesitation about them, but my husband came from a family that trusted the allopathic system, and I couldn’t find any research to back up my concerns, so our compromise was to wait until her immune system was slightly more developed—we started at six months rather than two months.

A bit of background about us—my grandma had been diagnosed celiac in her later years, so it would be easy to say that a gluten allergy ran in our family. I do remember watching for signs of the allergy when I first fed wheat to our daughter, and there was no reaction. However, before she was two, she was beginning to have a chronic red rash and chronic loose stools. We took her to a local naturopath, who told us to take her off of wheat and to stop vaccinating her. We did, and within 10 days the allergy symptoms cleared up. We lived gluten-free for 10 years.

When we began seeing Dr. Jeff, I was seeing him once a month, and our two daughters alternated months in order to take advantage of the child discount. Sometimes it was longer than a month between appointments, so probably our two daughters were each seeing him about 5 times a year.

The first thing to change was that my foot stopped swelling up every month. The first month it began to, but then receded without swelling fully. After that, I often had itchiness on one or both of my feet, and it actually took a few years to fully clear, but I never had that huge inflammation of my foot that I had been getting previously—something that had led my chiropractor to comment that if I didn’t get antibiotics, he was afraid I might lose that foot! Looking back, it was probably cellulitis. So even though it took time, my body was able to gently heal without danger.

For my daughter, every once in awhile we would test her on gluten by giving her a small amount, and the telltale rash around her mouth would always begin to show up, so we’d back off for a couple months and try again. Well one day, about a year and a half into her treatment, we gave her some bread and she didn’t react. So I told her we would take it slow, trying just a little bit at a time. Well, being a 12-year-old who apparently didn’t understand the meaning of a little bit, she ate her fill of regular pizza at a birthday party the following weekend! Shocked as I was, she had no reaction at all! She is now 17, and has been eating gluten ever since (though we try to do organic sprouted bread at home for health reasons).

In late 2023, my husband was in a head-on collision as a passenger on the highway during the first big snow of the season. He was rushed to the hospital with an airbag injury next to his eye, and severe pain in his lower abdomen. He had been knocked out from the force of airbag. Exploratory surgery that evening revealed severe damage to his bowel from the force of the seatbelt. The surgeon removed about a foot of colon and reconnected the ends, and he was on strong IV antibiotics due to the leakage that had been happening in his abdomen prior to the surgery.

After this experience, my husband began connecting with Dr. Jeff regularly for a short time, and by God’s grace he has recovered fully! He is mentally clear and physically fit, and recently obtained the highest possible level on his military fitness test, two years in a row.

I asked my younger daughter how homeopathic has helped her, and she said that Dr. Jeff has a dropper bottle for just about anything. Over the years, he’s helped us with bad bug bites, menstrual cramps, menopausal symptoms, anxiety issues, recovering from injuries—just about any ailment you can think of! Beyond that, we are expecting and trusting that we will reap longer term benefits down the road, avoiding some of the chronic health concerns that often plague people as they get older. We have also taken advantage of many of his homeopathic immunizations, which are a much safer way of avoiding illness and disease, and are taken by mouth rather than bypassing your natural defenses through injection.

To me, homeopathic also fits with my worldview—that God made our bodies to be able to heal, and He has put the things in nature necessary for us to recover and live well. Dr. Jeff has helped us discover many of those remedies and continues to do so, and we are grateful.
